BONE BROTH RECIPE
. Organic beef bones or chicken (if not organic grass-fed)
. 2 Tbs Organic Apple cider vinegar – If you live in Australia Get it here
You can roast the bones quickly in a hot oven with salt and pepper or just throw them in the slow cooker or pot.
Cover with water and add the Apple Cider vinegar
Leave to slow cook for 24 to 48 hrs the longer you leave the more taste and nutrients. You can add water if needed as it cooks.
Add fresh herbs and spices in the last 10 minutes.
Dried herbs and spices or spice powders can be added during the final hour.
Vegetables can be added according to their size, giving them enough time to cook.
When done, strain and let cool slightly and pour into glass jars or bowl, set in fridge.
There will be a layer of fat which can be removed if desired or you can use to cook steak. YUMMM!!!
Store excess in freezer. I cup capacity for family meals & I often use ice-cube trays so I can add little bits of bone broth goodness to the kids meals.
Add to soups, gravy, spag, mash, anything you like really.
I would love to know how you go making yours & adding it to your meals.
